A Valentine's poem I wrote for my husband in 2022.
*Warning: Extreme mushiness. Proceed at your own risk.
Your hair is red. Our house is blue.
Peanut M&M's® are great, but not as great as you.
When I think of you I still get tingle-nose,
All twitterpated from my head down to my toes.
To think I get to be married to you for life.
I love being your friend, but nothing beats being your wife.
It all started with Tiny, the little trailer that could.
All our camping adventures have been so very good.
You make me feel special. You make me proud.
You make me laugh because you’re funny and loud.
You are great at caring for me and all our crew.
You make delicious meals and a mean cappuccino you brew.
Your gumbo would be at the top of my list.
And you know I love a good list. (I just couldn’t resist.)
An amazing father, husband, man.
I will always be your biggest fan.
And I know you are mine too by the way you encourage me.
You get me like no one else and help me be all I can be.
You are wise beyond your years, but then you do have 10 on me.
That, I’ll never let you forget. But I do look up to you, seriously.
I love our silliness, fun, cutting up and goofing around.
We’ll be that old couple, picking on each other even when we can’t hear a sound.
You make me such unique, useful, beautiful things from wood;
A baking cart, a tray, and where we said our vows your crosses stood.
You have great talent, creativity, and hands so strong.
Hands that I love holding in mine where they belong.
With you, I know I am safe and secure.
I thank God for you daily, that’s for sure.
You inspire me with your work ethic, relationships, integrity, and faith in our Lord.
As iron sharpens iron, I pray together we become as sharp as a sword.
I love every day with you, my Valentine.
And I have to write just one more line,
To tell you how much I love you, how much I care.
Or I can just show you. Come here, my honey bear.
