About the Camper

Christen McKey writes, mothers, and joyfully camps, often all at the same time. She is an outdoor enthusiast and word-lover, especially when they rhyme. Her enthusiasm for writing began as a kid and was reinforced when she won a poetry award in high school. Soon afterward, she earned a degree in print / graphic communication and pursued a career in public relations. Currently, she is putting her communication skills to use at a non-profit Christian ministry that serves churches and equips men as they lead their families, something she is very passionate about. When Christen's not traveling to state parks with her family and logging camping details, she enjoys time at home in Virginia with her husband, kids, and mountain dog.
