This is what joy amid a storm may look like.
It may look like an impromptu post-rain photo session.
It may resemble light, carefree puddle jumping when you carry immense, heavy burdens.
It may be a moment of supernatural peace during chaos.
It may be laughing with your kids two weeks before you take the stand in a courtroom halfway across the country in the most terrifying trial you’ve faced.
It may look like smiling through fear and uncertainty of complicated surgery to remove a large tumor three weeks after the uncertainty of that complicated courtroom trial.
It may look fake…
if it weren’t for the One who makes it real.
It may look impossible…
if it weren’t for the illogical peace and non-circumstance-dependant joy from the God of overflowing hope…
and overflowing puddles.
It may rain, but the showers bring growth.
It may get dark, but it makes the sun shine that much brighter.
It may storm, but the winds will calm and the clouds will eventually part.
Life may get hard in big ways, but God is bigger.
And those puddles; well, they reflect his goodness and faithfulness, waiting for us to jump in with both feet.
