Let’s talk coziness for a second. I love blankets. I am definitely a blanket person, no matter what the temperature is. So the fact that there are blankets that exist for outdoor use is a wonderful thing in my world.
My generous and thoughtful husband gifted me this lightweight packable outdoor blanket a couple of years ago and it has gone everywhere with me ever since. There are several good outdoor and camping blanket options out there and I’ve tested a couple of them, but this Down Puffy Camping Blanket by Get Out Gear is my favorite.
The down insulation keeps me warm when it’s quite cold outside, but it’s also comfortable when it’s only mildly chilly. The ripstop nylon fabric is silky smooth and cozy while also repelling water and dirt. The dark color of mine resists the appearance of stains as well and still looks as good as new. It’s also very easy to wash and dry when it does get dirty or smoke-scented. Just wash on cold water gentle cycle and tumble dry on low.
I use this blanket most often while lounging in my hammock or around the campfire, but I’ve also used it when I need an extra layer in the tent, camper, hotel room, cabin, or car ride. It’s so portable!
There are two things I love most about this blanket. First, it comes with a neat little stuff sake with a clasped handle that can attach to a backpack or suitcase for easy travel. While in the sack, this blanket also makes a great pillow in the car or on a plane. After it’s been stuffed for a while it may seem a little flat, but just give it a few minutes to fluff up and it will be like a cloud in no time. Second, the blanket has snaps so that it can be worn like a poncho! This is so convenient for moving around the campsite on those super chilly days.
So whether you use this blanket while camping, road-tripping, flying, or relaxing on the couch at home, this is a pretty handy piece of gear to own!
